Water Interruption (16 August, 2019):: From 7:00 am to 3:30 pm most customers will experience low pressure or no water situations due to the repair works on the Board's main transmission line. The Board regrets any inconvenience this will cause.

New Water Connections
       

In order for people to get water connection from Blantyre Water Board, they are required to submit a letter of application to the Chief Executive enclosing a sketch map which should clearly show the premises location.

Upon receipt of the letter, the Board conducts an assessment of the locations where water connections are needed. Among other things, the Board ensures that:-

(a). There is direct access from the main water pipeline.
(b).The property is of semi-permanent structure.
(c).The main pipeline is adequate in size and has enough pressure.

After the assessment of the location, a customer is then served with a quotation within two weeks and once payment is made, a customer is supposed to be connected within four weeks from the date of making full payment for the water connection. Applicants that do not qualify are also communicated to in writing stating the reasons for the failure.

Upon accepting the Board’s quotation customers are also required to fill an official form detailing the name and address of the applicant, plot number, estimated water usage and the amount.
