BWB AND MUBAS EXPLORE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO HARNESS LOCAL INNOVATION

[Date] - The Blantyre Water Board (BWB) and Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) held a strategic meeting today at the BWB Suites to explore a potential partnership that could transform local solutions in the water sector.
For too long, Malawi has relied on external solutions for technical, mechanical, and ICT challenges. However, MUBAS offers an opportunity to leverage local ingenuity, technology, and innovation to develop homegrown solutions.
MUBAS presented several platforms for collaboration, including:
- Prepaid meter solutions, addressing battery challenges and manufacturing prepaid units and battery power supply attachments
- Leakage control and non-revenue water management through an interactive mobile application featuring:
- Leakage alerts
- Geolocation-based data analysis
- Monitoring dashboard
- Integration with machine learning and artificial intelligence for diagnostic intelligence

BWB is excited about this partnership, which aligns perfectly with the Malawi 2063 agenda's emphasis on homegrown solutions and technological advancement.
"This collaboration represents a paradigm shift in how Malawian institutions can work together. By combining MUBAS's academic excellence and innovative capacity with BWB's practical industry experience, we can develop solutions tailored to our specific national context."
